Care Worker (Children’s Home). Supporting our students who live on site. Weekends roles also available. Study for Level 3 Residential Childcare Qualification paid for by Trust after probation period. Teaching Assistant (Education only) – 39 weeks term time. Supporting our students during the school day. 2 year TA Apprenticeship qualification. Less than 5 days a week may be considered dependent on current staffing needs. All TAs need to be available for contracted hours on days working. Contact the recruitment team for further information.

University Placement Roles 2024-25 We are now welcoming applications from university students wishing to take up a third year placement at St Joseph’s for 2024-25. We currently have placement students working as Teaching Assistants in our school and college and Care Workers in our registered children’s houses. Further details are available on Surrey Pathfinder. Please consider each role carefully and apply for either Education (39 weeks term time, daytime) or Care (52 weeks on shift rota working alternate weekends). If any students considering St Joseph’s for a placement in 2024-25 have any queries, please email the Recruitment Team, who will be able to assist. Safe recruitment procedures for all applicants
St Joseph’s Specialist Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Posts are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) certificate. If the post will be in regulated activity with children and / or adults, the DBS certificate will include a check of the relevant DBS barred list(s). It is a criminal offence for barred individuals to apply for work in relevant regulated activity.
Amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975 (2013 & 2020) provide that certain spent convictions and cautions are ‘protected’. These are not subject to disclosure to employers and cannot be taken into account. Guidance and criteria on the filtering of these cautions and convictions can be found onam t the Ministry of Justice website or in this document.

You may be asked for further information about your criminal history during the recruitment process.
