Residential Learning

Ofsted Good logoSt Joseph’s is registered with Ofsted as a Children’s Home.  There are seven boarding houses that encourage and help the children and young people to maximise their full potential.

The residential children and young people have the benefit of the extended curriculum, they learn and achieve in many aspects of their lives and develop key skills towards independent living. The children and young people spend time pursuing their various hobbies whilst achieving their objectives. The residential staff encourage the children and young people in all areas of independence and the development of skills to enable interaction out in the community.

There are excellent links to education and therapies to ensure a cohesive and consistent approach in all areas of the school

Staffing of the houses are key to success, each house has a team and deputy team leader leading a team of care staff. All staff receive key training to enable them to support the children and young people achieve their potential.
