Geography is one of the core areas of the National Curriculum which should be included in the curriculum of all students up to Key Stage 3.

Currently, we deliver Geography through the International Primary Curriculum topics in Key Stages 1-3.  We adapt the topics to suit the needs of the students and assess their progress against both the International Primary Curriculum and National Curriculum.

It is optional for students post Key Stage 3 to have Geography in their curriculum. All students in the 14+ department will follow the Community Skills/Life Skills programme that relates to the Asdan Award scheme; this involves the location of places using map reading. There are other opportunities for students to cover Geography skills. These include the ‘Leisure’ modules, which are optional for students to follow. These include the Humanities modules which are Geography subject based and other Leisure modules, including Dance and Music, which cover the art and cultures of other countries in the world.
